February 13, 2026

Workers loyal to the Singareni JAC, except the Singareni Coal Mines Karmika Sangh, which is affiliated to the Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh, participated in the Bharat bandh call issued by about 10 central trade unions, including AITUC, CITU and INTUC, against the Centre’s “anti-prola” policy. Their participation in the bandh on Thursday affected coal mining in all 11 areas of Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL), JAC leaders said.

Rallies and dharnas were held as part of the bandh in the combined districts of Karimnagar, Adilabad and Khammam. The Rasta roko was organized under the aegis of JAC near Srirampur bus stand in Mancherial district.

JAC leaders – Vasireddy Seetharamaiah of AITUC, Janak Prasad of INTUC, Raja Reddy of CITU, Surender Reddy of TBGKS, Srinivas of IFTU among others addressed the dharna.

Leaders have spoken out against the four new labor codes, calling them “anti-labour” and “exploitative”. They vowed to lead a united resistance against anti-labour policies and defend workers’ hard-fought rights. The protesters demanded the repeal of four labor codes and demanded equal pay for equal work for contract workers, besides seeking medical advice in SCCL and a housing scheme for all SCCL workers.
