The increase in coal production in underground mines would hold the key to Singareni Collieries to achieve 76 million tonnes this year (2025-26) and should be at least 1.8 Lakh tons (0.18 million tons) on Saturday, said SCCl N. Balaram, Chairman and CEO.
The review of the progress of the company in the production and sending of coal in the first quarter (April-June) of the current financial year said that coal transport (customers) should be at least 2.15 lakh tonnes (0.21 million tons) in July. In the first quarter, he expressed satisfaction at the coal broadcast with 104% success compared to the targets of 16.09 million tonnes.
Coal production in the first quarter was 15.99 million tonnes (99%) against the target of 16.09 million tonnes. However, according to the company officials, it is 4.33% lower (15.99 million tonnes) compared to the first quarter in the last fiscal (16.71 million tonnes). In the first quarter of this year, expeditions were also a shade better last year to 16.69 million tonnes.
Mr. Balaram said that a breakthrough for coal mining in the OpenCast mine in the Kothagudema area will be performed at the end of this month. He ordered the authorities concerned to speed up the work related to environmental and forest links for JK and Golet. He also wanted officials to ensure the quality of coal secured to consumers to maintain them in the coming years.
He also told officials to perform security audits in each mine and correct shortcomings if they exist. He also asked about the production of coal in the Zini mine in Odisha and told officials to agree to send coal made to the nearby CHHEndiPad railway tiles for their further transport.
Later he handed over the certificate to the first Singareni rescue team and the RG-2 Mire rescue station to appear as the best training center. He mentioned that the rescue teams from the Singareni participated in the rescue operations of the left banking channel, Blast in the pharmaceutical company in Pashamylaram and Tamil Nadu.
