SiliconAndhra will attempt three Guinness World Records

Guinness World Records judge Michael Empric will officiate three world record attempts during SiliconAndhra’s silver jubilee celebrations at the Oakland Arena in California on July 31 and August 1, writer Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad said on Sunday.

At a press conference at Andhra University’s Department of Hindi, Mr. Prasad, who was invited as the guest of honor for the celebrations, said the three Guinness World Records attempts – Sangita Amrutavarshini, Laya Amrutavarshini and Sataka Sankharavam – would be conducted in front of an audience of more than 15,000 people.

Citing SiliconAndhra’s contributions to the promotion of Telugu language and culture across the world over the past 25 years, he said the organization had undertaken several major initiatives including Laksha Gala Sankeertanarchana, a mass rendition of Annamayya’s compositions in Secunderabad in 2009 with about 1.5 lakh participants, which according to Guinch was a World Record match

He appealed to Telugus all over the world to participate in the silver jubilee celebrations.
