
Hundreds of tourists who stuck in Chunghang on Thursday after landslide in the Himalayan state of Sikkim are on their way back to the gangtok, officials said on Friday.
Tourists started to travel on Friday towards Manganese with the help of administration, they said.
On Thursday, about 200 tourist vehicles were stuck on Chunghang and residents hid in Gurdware.
Meanwhile, the vehicles carrying hundreds of stuck tourists went to Mangana from Chunghang by the reconstructed Bridge Bailey in Sangkalang, which was opened for the traffic movement, the officials said.
Tourists after reaching the city of Mangan will continue towards the gangtok, they said.
The Manganese of the Mangan Anant Jain and the Superintendant of the Police (SP) Sonam Detch Bhutia helped the stuck tourists to safely return to their destinations.
Tourists still stuck in Lacken, Lachung
According to Hindustan Times report, about 1,000 tourists in Lachen and Lachung in North Sikkim continued to get stuck on Friday afternoon.
The Mangan Superintendent of Police (SP) Sonam Detch Bhutia told the newspaper that about 1,500 other Tursists who saw their vehicles stuck on Thursday evening in nearby villages. Tourists were accommodated at a police station, Gurudware, an Indo-Tibetan border police camp and in some cases hosted by local villagers.
“They were eliminated on Friday morning and had already left for the gangtok,” Bhutia told the newspaper.

While the roads to Laclen and Lachung remained closed due to landslides caused by severe collisions last evening, the effort to clean the routes cleaned as quickly as possible, PTI reported.
The District Administration took all the necessary measures to ensure the well -being of tourists stuck in Lachung and Lacken, according to the press agency.
Mangan district officials approached Chunghang to assess the situation there.
Governor Sikkim Om Prakash Mathur said that all tourists are safe in various destinations in northern Sikkim after they got stuck in several places for landslides.
Bhutia said Hindustan Times that landslides have damaged many roads near Munshithang on his way to Lacken of Chunghang and near Lima on his way to Lachung of Chunghang.
Tourists have to travel through Chunghang to reach Lachung and Lacken.

Tourist permits canceled in Sikkim
Meanwhile, the Mangan district has announced suspension of all tourist permits for North Sikkim.
The permission already issued for travel was declared invalid, stated officials and added that the tour operators were instructed to send no tourists north until the next announcement.
The authorities canceled all the permits that were provided to the tourists to visit the region of April 25.
Approximately 1,000 tourists were stuck in the picturesque northern Sikkim on landslide soils in the Himalayan state, which also witnesses heavy rain.
