The State Church Department issued a serious recording of the depictions of religious symbols “undesirable” on tattoos of participants at the recent events in Sikki, and issued a counseling warning of injury to religious sentiment.
“Some tattoos were displayed during the recent action showing the deities in a way that was considered disrespectful, especially when it was placed under the passport,” said advice issued on Monday (October 13, 2025). “The depiction of religious images is offensive to the faith, faith and customs of the earth,” he said, asked people to follow cultural sensitivity.
Counseling urged all individuals and artists to give proper care and caution and depict images related to religious traditions. He also stated that no work of art should be formed or exposed in a way that could harm religious feelings or show disrespect for any community.
During the International Tattoo Convention held in Saamse between 9 to 12 October, the alleged improper depiction of religious deities took place in Saramse. After the depiction of religious symbols on tattoos, the organizers formally apologized to people and the church department.
