Siddaramaiah launches ‘sixth guarantee’, questions former CMs’ silence on ‘injustice’ to Karnataka

February 15, 2026

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar and others during the government’s 1000 day celebration in Haveri on Saturday.

The mega-conference in Haveri on Saturday to launch the ‘Bhoo Guarantee’, coinciding with the Congress government completing 1,000 days in office, also became a platform to raise the issue of the ‘injustice’ brought to Karnataka by the Centre.

Addressing a gathering of beneficiaries who were issued title deeds, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah questioned the silence of former chief ministers who are now MPs on the issue of “injustice”.

“Former Chief Ministers and sitting MPs Basavaraj Bommai and Jagadish Shettar and Union Minister Pralhad Joshi are not opening their mouths to talk about injustice in Karnataka,” he said.

“We created a record by distributing title deeds to a total of 2.2 lakh beneficiaries even as we became number one in GDP. These were achieved despite injustice from the Center in terms of release of funds,” he said.

He termed the distribution of the title deed as the “sixth guarantee” and said that if what was supposed to stand was provided by the Centre, the government could start more development works.

Mr. Siddaramaiah claimed that in the last two years and nine months, the State Government had fulfilled 243 assurances. “But the BJP, which failed to fulfill its assurances when in power, is now spreading the word that the state coffers are empty. We have so far directly credited ₹1,18,000 crore to the bank accounts of the people of the state through various guarantees,” he said.
