Launching a counter attack on Chief Minister Siddaramaiah describing him as “amavasye surya” (dark sun), BJP MP Tejasvi Surya on Thursday alleged that Siddaramaiah’s dispensation itself was an “eclipse that masked the state”.
“The state will be free from the Siddaramaiah-Congress eclipse after two-and-a-half years, while the BJP will continue to shine forever,” he told reporters here.
Returning to Mr. Siddaramaiah, Mr. Surya said, “Despite being a senior leader with a wide reach, Mr. Siddaramaiah is not aware of the difference between Amavasya (new moon day) and Hunnime (full moon day). The sun continues to shine on both days.”
He claimed that the fact that the Siddaramaiah government had come as an eclipse of the state was visible in the potholed roads in Bengaluru that were making life miserable for motorists.
