Indian opener Shubman Gill’s availability for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa remains subject to fitness as the star batsman continues to recover from a neck injury. Gill completed one unrestricted batting at the Center of Excellence (COE), responding well with no flare-ups.
Over the next few days, he will undergo progressive batting and ground conditioning as part of his rehabilitation program. Gill is scheduled to play his final RTP (Return to Play) match on 5 December 2025, which will determine his availability for selection in the South Africa T20I starting on 9 December.
The team management and medical staff remain cautiously optimistic, noting his steady progress and the importance of a fully fit Gill in the lead until the 2026 T20 World Cup.
Another to watch.
