Former Spinner Harbhajan Singh threw his support for the newly appointed captain Shaubman Gill, while warning that the young dough was facing a steep challenge for the upcoming tour of England. With higher players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not available, Harbhajan believes Gill must act as a leader in what he promises to be a test series.
In just 25, Gill has been appointed Indian Captain on full -time On Saturday, with Rishabh Pant as his representative. England Tour, starting next month, will mean the beginning of the new World Championship cycle (WTC)-the start of the team in the transition.
Gill now enters the lead at a key moment because India is undergoing a generation transition to staff and strategy. The team’s inability to qualify for the World Championship in the World Championship 2023–2025-marked after a successive defeat of the series for New Zealand at home and Australia in Trophy Border-Gavascar-Establishing Challenges to Restoration.
Harbhajan, when he spoke at the opening of the TV show, which is the boss on Sunday, Gill welcomed his appointment, but emphasized the high expectations and difficult conditions awaiting.
“It is obvious that this is a great step that has a young captain like SHUBMAN GILL, who has been well in the franchise cricket,” Harbhajan PTI said. “But this will be a hard tour. England has never been an easy place to play a test cricket. I hope SHUBMAN and RISHABH PANT-TENTTO will perform.
Harbhajan also urged fans and critics to not judge the team too quickly, and emphasize the importance of giving this young party time to grow.
“I would also like to ask people not to start judging too early-dokonce even if this tour fails,” he said. “It’s okay even if they don’t win; they will learn from experience. I believe everyone will return stronger on this tour.”
The Indian group, entering a new era under Gill’s leadership, brings a promise, but also faces uncertainty. With unknown conditions and high -pressure expectations, the performance of the team in England is likely to shape the perception of this next generation of Indian crickets. And as Harbhajan noted, it is not only about results, but also resistance, learning and long -term growth.
