Former Australian dough Greg Chapppell said Shaubman Gill will face his biggest test in the fourth and penultimate test of India against England, starting on 23 July in Old Trafford, Manchester. India launched a series of five games with a loss of five goals in headingley, but bounced back with the victory of 336 in Edgbaston.
However, A narrow 22-run on iconic Lord cricket terrain Place India on the hind leg again. If India loses a Manchester test or is satisfied with a draw, they will lose a chance to win a test series on English soil.
“The OLD TRAFFORD test is formed as the greatest examination for Gill – not only as a dough, but as a leader,” Chapppel wrote in his column for Espncricinfo.
“SHUBMAN GILL MUST BE A GREAT SUPPORT”
Chappell also commented on the shub gill sledding Zak Crawley and noted that these events only depend on whether India wins. He added that Gill should focus on becoming a good communicator, and acknowledged that he couldn’t score every time he entered the field.
“They learn about work, but the timeline is not generous. That does not mean that it can not show emotions. In fact, his passion on the pitch in the Lord was good to see. But action like getting up in the face of Zak Crawley at a time that is in time of time.
“Great captains are great communicators. Gill must happen one – and fast. Whether it’s training, in the middle or in the dressing room during a break – clear, quiet communication is necessary. His bat can’t always speak.
With the highest score of 269 in Birmingham, Gill is a leading runner of the series with 607 runs from three matches on average 101.16 with three centuries in his name.
