Former English cricket Mark Butcher counts that SHUBMAN GILL smoothly moved to his role as the captain of the Indian test team and also easily stated the burden that it was the new Indian number four. This comes after his Gargantuan sum in the Birmingham test, where he scored 269 runs in the first shifts and 161 in the second when India continued to win 336 runs.
Butcher counts that Gill looked very comfortable In his new role and attributed to the 26 -year -old man for being able to handle the pressure coming up with work.
“There are not many jobs in world sport that come with such great pressure and control as the Indian Captain Criket, not to mention that you are filling Kohli’s place in the order, or Tendulkara’s place in the order (both held number four),” he shared in an interview with India (PTI).
“So the pressures were huge. And so far he took them as a duck into the water. He just looked very, very comfortable, very balanced when it was concerned,” he added.
Gill entered the series with the pressure of the ship, given that Virt Kohli and Rohit Sharma left the test cricket and got the lead of the reins that many were against his records in tests.
“And he also played beautifully. So what great start of the series. I think he can have some records on his side. He has passed enough. So what does he have? 600 already in the series. It was an incredible beginning,” he said.
England must find a solution for gill
Butcher counts on Captain Ben Stokes and head coach Brendon McCullum must reconsider his plans and find out a better and improved solution for SHUBMAN GILL and the Indian Middle Order.
One of the Indian problems in the introductory game has seen a massive improvement, such as Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar, bringing key posts in the second test when India continued to balance the series.
“And England will have to come up with the response in this medium order, because he obviously feels that you get through the first three or four … and then there are rewards to be down a little further,” he said he refers to a fragile Indian order, “he concluded.
England has already shown signs that they can focus on changes in the third test when they announced the return of Gus Atkinson back on the side. McCullum also suggested that England can consider Bringing Jofra Archer Give the bowling unit much needed support.
But Gill will certainly have other plans and hope to continue to accumulate in the lines to find himself on the Council for Henning.
