SHUBMAN GILL revealed a cheerful reaction of his father after the Indian captain scored on Thursday, July 3, in the Birmingham test of the magnificent 269 against England. Despite the nervous beginning, Gill continued to break the 30 boundaries and three six in the 387-milery marathon shifts, which helped India to publish the impressive first shifts of a total of 587.
At the end of Play at 2. DayCouncil for cricket control in India (BCCI) shared a video on their official instagram description in which Gill responded to news from her parents to the lower knocking.
“Okay, I played, I liked watching your launching and my heart was in peace. You burned like your U-16 and U-19 days I felt very proud,” Gill’s father said in a voice message listed in the video.
“I felt amazing to watch you a bat, go on, God bless you,” his mother added.
Interestingly, Gill closed the video by sharing a light moment that was not included in the voice notes, the insolent comment of his father about the missed milestone.
“It means a lot from him. But he also told me that I missed my triple century. Hopefully we will end this match with a great note,” Gill said.
People who care most for the gill
Indian captain Shaubman Gill revealed that when it comes to his cricket: his father and his best friend. He shared that their opinions were the only ones that really care about the cricket journey.
As for his best friend, he is likely to refer to his colleague of the national teammate, Abhisheka Sharma, who has become his mark in the shortest format and is now a designated opener for the T20i. Both of them were depicted for some time and would not be surprised if he was the “best friend” he referred to.
“This message means a lot to me. I think I grew up almost all my cricket for my father, in the sense that it was because of him, what I started playing. And the only person except him is my best friend I practiced with. These are the only two people when I come to my cricket and I listened,” Gill said.
Now the Indian team hopes that Gill’s shifts have provided a strong enough pillow to keep England at bay. After I did work with the bat, Gill’s leadership And instincts will now be tested and will try to provide the captain’s equally impressive performance.
