Apart from his batting, Shubman Gill has excelled in one more thing during the ongoing IPL 2026 season. And that was his social media game. The GT captain trolled CSK and RCB after beating them this season and also spared PBKS. But this time, he left his social media game on at the expense of his own team after losing to KKR.

Gujarat were beaten by 29 runs at the Eden Gardens as the visitors were made to pay for their sloppy fielding performance. GT dropped a total of four catches, allowing Finn Allen, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Cameron Green to take full advantage and score runs freely to post a total of 247 runs.
Gill kept GT in check with his 49-ball 85, but it was not enough in the end. After the play was completed, Gill took to Instagram with a cheeky dig at his own team and hinted that he would do better with the catch next time.
“We’re catching another one,” Gill said on Instagram.
WHAT GILL SAID ABOUT THE GT VS KKR CATCH
Gill was honest in his assessment of the GT’s field performancewith the fact that they didn’t deserve to win in the end. However, even the Gujarat skipper was happy to have such a performance ahead of the qualifiers.
“We set a certain standard and dropped three sitters, we didn’t deserve to win this. When I look at it, it’s better to have a match like this now than in the qualifiers,” Gill said after the match.
“Looking at the wicket, 200-210 was a par score but we dropped too many catches. The pitch was good, the odd one was stopping but I felt we batted well to get the score we did. No worries but our fielding could have been a lot better,” explained Gill.
GT needs just one more win to seal the qualifiers and will face CSK in their final league match on May 21.
