SHUBMAN GILL took the social media to express his grief over devastation caused by what was described as the “worst flood in recent history” in Panjab, the North Indian state from which the Indian test of the captain originates. The Floods in Pandjab have already claimed at least 29 livesWhile the thousands were moved as torrential rain and the release of water from the dams flooded more than 10 districts from the dams. The rivers Sutlej, Beas and Ravi, along with several seasonal drives, overflowed after severe rainfall in their basin in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir. Since Monday, September 1, more than 1300 villages remained immersed across Pandjab, according to official data, 6,582 people moved to 122 auxiliary camps. The worst affected are districts including Pathankota, Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur and Amritsar.
