The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday (August 18, 2025) met the captain of the Shukla Shukla group, who became the first Indian astronaut to travel to the International Space Station (ISS).
Mr. Shukla, who was part of the commercial Axiom-4 mission in the ISS from June 25 to July 15, met with the Prime Minister of Lok Kalyan Marg.
Mr. Modi welcomed Mr. Shukla, who was wearing an astronaut jacket, with a warm embrace, and went with him with his arm on Astronaut’s shoulder.
Mr. Shukla donated the mission mission mission Axiom-4 mission and Indian tricolor, who took with him to the ISS. This Indian tricolor flew in the background of the ISS when Mr. Shukla worked with Modi 29. June.

“We had a great interaction with Shubhanshu Shukl. We discussed a wide range of objects, including his experience in space, progress in science and technology, as well as an ambitious mission of India Gaganyaan. India is proud of his performance,” Modi said in post X.
The astronaut born in Lucknow also showed, as he showed the pictures he took from the ISS on the tablet computer to the Prime Minister Modim.
Mr. Shukla was part of a private space mission Axiom-4, which rose from Florida 25th June and anchored at the International Space Station 26 June. He returned to Earth on July 15th.
The Prime Minister cooperated with Mr. Shukla 29. June in the early days of the Axiom-4 mission, which anchored on the ISS.
He also asked the astronaut to documented his learning, training and stay at the International Space Station to help future missions India, including Gaganyaan.
Mr. Shukla returned to India on Sunday (August 17, 2025).
In a press interaction at the beginning of this month, Shukla said that the Prime Minister Modi had given him to documented all aspects of his mission in favor of the upcoming Indian program Gaganyaan.
“I remember very well the homework that the Prime Minister gave me. And I have finished it very well. I am very excited to return and share with you.
Together with three other astronauts-Peggy Whitson (USA), Slawosz aidski-Wisniewski (Poland) and Tibor Kapu (Hungary)-they performed during the 20-day Axiom-4 mission.
