Cricketer Shreyas Iyer has rented a luxury residential apartment in Mumbai’s ultra-premium Worli district for an initial monthly rent of Rs. ₹18.50 lakh, according to property registration documents reviewed by real estate consultancy Square Yards.
The transaction was officially registered in June 2026. The registration data was accessed from the official website of the Inspector General of Registration (IGR), Maharashtra and analyzed by Square Yards.

Inside the multi-million rupee rental
The leased property is located in the luxury residential tower Artesia in Worli. The spacious apartment has a built-up area of 360 square meters, approximately 3,875 square feet.
In keeping with the premium nature of the project, the lease agreement also gives the cricketer exclusive access to four dedicated parking spaces.
From a financial perspective, this transaction stands out as one of the most significant residential rental deals in recent times.
To secure the lease, Shreyas Iyer paid a hefty security deposit of Rs ₹74 million. The official processing of the documents involved the payment of a stamp duty of ₹1.84 lakh, along with standard registration fees ₹1000.

Structured escalation over 36 months
According to Square Yards’ analysis, the lease is for a total term of 36 months (three years). The rent structure includes an annual escalation clause of approximately 7% year-on-year.
During the first year of the lease, the monthly payment is set at ₹18.50 crores. In the second year, the monthly rent rises to ₹19.79 crores. Until the third and final year of the contract, the monthly rent payment will be affected ₹21.18 crores.
Over the entire three-year lease term, the cumulative rent from the transaction is staggering ₹7.14 million crowns.
