Former English Spinner Monty Panesar believes that Shreyas Iyer should play on County cricket to get back his place in the Indian test team. Iyer was recently omitted from the team for the upcoming series of five matches against England.
After the second test in Visakhapatnam, he lost his place over last year’s series against England. For the upcoming series, India chose Sai Sudharsana, who after two seasons won his place with Surrey in the cricket district.
“Shreyas Iyer doesn’t have a soft touch”
Panesar, who took 167 goals in 50 tests, said that while thirty -year -old Iyer works well on flat and bouncy tracks, he must work on his technique in the seam conditions.
He added that Iyer must prove his / her login data to national selectors by performing in the district cricket.

“I think the technique, its game is probably not suitable for at the moment rocking conditions. And therefore they probably thought they gave it to some other players whose game is suitable against the conditions that appear.
“If he has a serious playing cricket, he must find the region and play the district cricket season. And then to prove that his technique is on the standard against the swimming chain and the ball,” Panesar added.
