
The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) ordered a probe into a complaint from Assam, claiming that she was forced to marry the poultry farm in Engappuzha in Kozhikode, where she worked on daily wages. The investigation will be carried out under the leadership of the police superintendent.
The rights panel registered the SUO MOTU case after hitting media reports of a 19 -year -old complaint. The police are to report an investigation report within 15 days. The case will be considered by the panel during the next meeting in Kozhikode 26 June.
According to the complainant, the owner of the poultry farm forced her to marry him when she demanded her waiting wages after closing the farm. She claimed that there were also attempts to have sexual assault, accompanied by the claim that the marriage would soon be celebrated.
The woman in her petition to the police Thiruvambady claimed that the owner of the farm threatened her father and sister, who accompanied her two months ago in the district and were looking for a better living.
The police said that it had already registered a case against two persons, farm owners and another worker on the basis of a woman’s complaint. Another investigation is underway.
