State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) Chairman Alexander Thomas directed the Kochi Corporation Secretary to take urgent steps to cover the canal near Convent Junction.
The Commission also directed that an Executive Engineer be deputed to inspect the site and steps be taken to permanently redress the grievance. The Corporation Secretary was asked to inform the Commission within three weeks of the action taken.
He further directed that the Executive Engineer depute the Corporation Secretary in the meeting scheduled at PWD Rest House, Pathadipalam on May 10.
