
On Wednesday, the State Commission for Human Rights (SKRC) carried out the inspections in five rehabilitation centers in and its surroundings and found that the inhabitants were allegedly detained illegally, tortured and treated inhumanly.
On the basis of a complaint, a team of Mother’s Mother Foundation, Belako Social Service, Dasanapura, Unity Social Service in Makali, Sanjeevini Trust in Kempapura and Goodlife Trust in Kachohali, Magadi Road.
The Inspectorate found that they were reportedly treated with the population inhuman.
Two residents were reportedly detected, while two others were in bed with open wounds without healthcare facilities. They had serious illnesses and did not receive medicines or were not informed of their families, said a police officer who was part of the air raid.
In another rehabilitation center, it was found that at least two inhabitants were normal, but their family members were forcibly accepted to resolve civil disputes. In another center, most of the inhabitants were from Kerala.
The Inspectorate found that most of the population was not alcoholics who were reportedly subjected to physical torture. Officials said there was no basic facility and lack of employees and advisors and doctors.
They supplied any medical facilities in all centers.
Officials also found that in the district administration centers, which is compulsory under the rules, the lack of regular monitoring and inspections.
The SHRC asked the Jurisdiction Police to investigate the outages and take legal steps. Officials also wrote a district administration that was looking for an answer and recommended immediate measures to improve the equipment.
