Vice President JD Vance criticized inflammatory political rhetoric, which focuses on the enforcement of the right to shoot on the facility for immigration and enforcement of customs outputs (ICE) in Dallas on Wednesday. The attack was shot by three detainees, one of which later died. The shooter also died of a self -harnessed gunshot wound and no ice officers were damaged.
Political rhetoric associated with violence
During a visit to North Carolina, Vance stressed that demonizing law enforcement supports violence.
“You don’t have to agree with my immigration policies. You don’t have to agree with Donald Trump’s immigration policy. But if your political rhetoric promotes violence against our law enforcement, you can go straight to hell,” Vance said. “And you don’t have a place in a political interview of the United States.”
He also condemned the comparison of the enforcement of the right with the repressive regimes:
“If you want to stop political violence, stop attacking our enforcement as a Gestapo. If you want to stop political violence, stop saying that anyone who disagrees with you is the Nazis. If you want to stop political violence, look in the mirror.
Investigations and details of the attack
The FBI confirmed that the incident was investigating as a “targeted attack” against ICE. The Ministry of Internal Security (DHS) said The shell case obtained on the scene contained a message “Anti-ic”.
“Look, just because we don’t support illegal aliens, we don’t want them to be executed by violent murderers dealing with political violence,” Vance added. “So we pray for our ice agents, but also for anyone who is hit by this terrible attack.”
Growing violence against ice
Dallas shooting is part of a disturbing trend. In July, DHS reported that attacks on ice officers and other federal immigration agents increased almost 700%compared to 2024. The agency recorded 10 attacks between January and June 2024, which rose to 79 in the same period in 2025.
Other recent incidents include July shooting near Ice’s Prairieland in Texas, a detention facility where a policeman was shot in his neck.
