Three people were shot on Wednesday (September 24) in the immigration facility and US customs enforcement (ICE) in Dallas before the shooter died of a wounded blow, the agency confirmed according to the AP report.
The reigning ICE director Todd Lyons said CNN that investigators are still working to determine whether the victims are employees, visitors or detention. “They could be employees, they can be civilians who visited the facility, it could be detained,” he said.
Reaction to emergency situations
Dozens of police and emergency vehicles were sent to the scene, while the highway near the device was blocked during the reaction.
ICE said that no further information was available immediately and the identity of the victims has not yet been published.
Police and fire seizures react
The officers responded around 6:40 pm to help the officer on the North Stemmons highway, where the preliminary investigation revealed that the person initiated fire in a government building from a nearby structure, Dallas police officer Jonathen E. MaMer told E -mail.
The Department of Fire Rescue in Dallas was also sent after news of the shooting at or near the immigration office, confirmed by Jason L. Evans.
Parkland Hospital received two patients from the incident, said April Foran, although it did not provide details of their conditions. MANER delivered a third party on the scene. The investigation takes place with briefing expected later during the day.
Dozens of emergency vehicles were seen along the nearby highway.
The Ice device is located along the InterState 35 East, southwest of the Dallas Love Field Airport and a walking distance of several hotels that serve passengers. Traffic cameras showed six lanes of what is usually a busy highway completely empty, with cars and trailer stopped at the interstate east.
The Minister of Inner Security Kristi Noem said that while the details are still appearing, the agency confirmed that there is “multiple injuries and death” in the field office. She added that the motif remains unclear, but has seen a recent increase in ice agents’ incidents.
American vice president JD Vance responds to Noem on X, wrote: “An obsessed attack on the enforcement of law, especially ICE, must stop. I pray for all injured in this attack and their families.”
