On Tuesday, the High Court in Delhi killed the owners of Patanjali Foods Ltd Baba Ramdev for the alleged communally charged and contemptuous remarks against the 119 -year -old National Hamdard (India), creator of the popular RAH Afza drink.
One judge of justice Amit Bansal has ordered that a video representing a yoga guru allegedly made controversial references to the AFZA ROOH focused on the drink like “Sharbat Jihad”-he met.

The judge stated that Ramdev’s note “shocks the conscience of the court, it is unhoitable.” The court also ordered Patanjali to file an affidavit of compliance with the regulations and plan further hearing on May 1.
The notes of the Court of Justice came to hear a lawsuit filed by Hamdard, who accused Ramdev and Patanjali of doing municipal elevations against society. In video 3. April, Ramdev is seen by Patanjali’s “Gula Sharbat”, while allegedly makes indirect and municipal remarks about the Rooh Afze, suggesting that the proceeds of its sale were used to finance “Madras and mosques”.

This problem was further escalated last week when the leader of the Digvijaya Singh congress filed a police complaint against Ramdev in Bhopal and accused him of supporting communal hatred.
Ramdev prevented his statements and claimed that he had never named any specific brand in the video.
Hamdard, however, moved the High Court in Delhi and claimed that the notes went far beyond the brand’s borders and made hateful speeches.

The leader of Mukul Rohatgi, who appeared for Hamdard, said to the court: “It’s not just a slander on the brand. This is hateful. It attacks the religion of society owners.”
Rohatgi also recalled the court of past cases where Ramdev made unfounded claims, including the requirements against the allopathy, for which the Supreme Court had previously rebuked him. “A hard hand is required,” he said.
The leader of the lawyer Nayar, representing Patanjali, assured the court that the video would be removed.
He explained that Patanjali did not approve of any religious bias. However, he claimed that Ramdev had the right to express his political views.
However, the court rejected this attitude. “He can hold these opinions in his head; they don’t have to express them,” Justice Bansal said.
The Sharbat line is the latest in a number of high -ranking legal battles, where competitive brands have been directly or indirectly targeted in advertising.
Last week alone, a legal dispute over the sunscreen issued Hindustan Unilever Ltd (Hul) broke up under the Lakméé brand. Advertising argued that the popular sunscreen “Online Bestseller” provided the SPF 20’s advertised SPF 20 instead of advertised SPF 20.
In this case, the justice Bansal also ordered Hul to take the video off from all platforms within 24 hours.
On the same day, Royal Challengers Sports PVT. LTD, owner of IPL Franchise Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), turned to Delhi High Court against Uber India Systems PVT. LTD for alleged abuse and distortion of the popular RCB slogan in advertising supporting a taxi service Uber’s Bike Taxi. The IPL Sunrisers Hyderabad – Travis Head – was another resistance over the assault of marketing.
This is not the first time they have faced legal heat. In May 2024, the Supreme Court initiated a contemptuous proceedings against them for raising misleading health and advertising against modern medicine.
The Court of Justice described 14 products of Patanje as a violation of the drugs and magical corrective measures (undesirable advertising) of 1954. The case was closed only after Ramdev and the company issued a public apology and undertaken advertising standards.
Hamdard was founded in 1906 in Delhi Hake Hafiz Abdul Majed as the Unani Medicine Company. After the India section in 1947, the company was divided into separate entities in India and Pakistan. In India, it was transformed into charity confidence known as Hamdard National Foundation. The company produces a range of UNANI products, while the Rooh Afza – modification in 1907 – has one of the oldest and most commercially recognized drinks.
