Referring to the case of rape PUNE, where a 22 -year -old technician accused an unidentified “delivery agent” of rape in her apartment, Commissioner Police Amitesh Kumar on Sunday said that a woman filed a false complaint. Her complaint was misleading the Police Pune, CP said.
“Only two days ago there was an incident in front of the Pune Municipal Police, which was used to create a narrative that the law and order concerning women in Pune collapsed completely and made efforts to depict Pune as dangerous to women,” Amitesh Kumar said.
“We have solved this case within 24 hours by deploying complete sources of the police administration … No one should try to slander Pune, a city known to be one of the safest, through false stories,” he added.
Accused of a well -known victim, not a delivery agent
In this case, the initial probe proposed that the accused was known to the woman and was not an agent of courier delivery, as the woman claims earlier, CP said on Friday.
The man who is employed with a reputable multinational company in PUNE was picked up from the Baner site earlier during the day. However, the Commissioner Kumar said that no formal arrest has been carried out yet, as stated.
Doubts about the female version of events
Unlike earlier statements, the police said that it had no evidence that no spray would be used during the alleged attack. Another accusation – that the accused had taken a selfie with a victim after the incident – was also questioned.
The woman claimed that she fainted after the man entered her house, and when she regained consciousness, he was gone. Before leaving the accused, he clicked on his selfie using his phone, where her back and part of his face were visible, and left a warning that he had taken her photographs and released them on the social media, if he reported the incident, she told the police.
