Before the first ODI at the Optus stadium in Perth on Sunday, October 19, Cummins shared his all time India-Australia combined ODI XI with Star Sports and represented eight Australian and three Indian pensioners.The 32-year-old Pacer from the new South Wales has not played competitively since West Indies faced in July 2025. It is also expected that the first test of the ASHES 2025-26 series against England in Perth will be missing.

In his combined XI, Cummins paired Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner as opening, followed by ricky ponting, Steve Smith, Shane Watson and Michael Bevan in the order of bats. Steve Smith, who won the two ODI World Championship with Australia in 2015 and 2023, left the 50-over March 2025 after Australia did not reach the final of the ICC Champions Trophy.Cummins chose Mrs. Dhoni as Wicketkeeper and Shane Warne as a specialized spinner.
