
Shivamogg Airport, the first Karnataka Airport, which was directly operated by the State Government through the Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (KSIIDC), is soon introduced by the organization of flight (FTO) and maintenance and repair (MRO).
The Minister of the Great and Middle Industry MB Patil said that it announced here on Tuesday on the occasion of the airport, which completed two years of successful operations. Over the past two years, Indigo Airlines has operated more than 670 flights and transported nearly 31,500 passengers; The Star Air took place about 1200 flights and served more than 47,000 passengers; And Spicejet operated 530 flights, transported 25,000 passengers, informed, in the edition.
To satisfy the growing demand, the airport is upgraded to facilitate continuous operation. The update includes the installation of modern navigation aids, such as court-dme, to ensure safe and effective flight operations under unfavorable weather conditions and at night, said Mr. Patil.
The edition states that the airport has also rapidly expanded the connectivity within the RCS-Oudan system and connected Shivamogga with the main destinations including Bengalur, Hyderabad, Chennai, Tirupati and Goa. “The stunning reactions of passengers and airlines reflect the growth potential of the region. With planned upgrades, the government has committed itself to providing trouble -free connectivity with world level security and services,” Patil said.
