Shiv Sena (UBT) Vinayak Raut booked: Daughter-in-law claims torture during overseas trips – forced pills, fed cow urine | Today’s news
Former Shiv Sena (UBT) Lok Sabha MP Vinayak Raut, his son and five others have been booked by the police following allegations of physical, mental and financial harassment of his daughter-in-law along with allegations of involvement in black magic, a police official said on Sunday.
The FIR was lodged at the Kapurbawdi police station on June 10 by Girija Raut (38), who is estranged from Raut’s son Jitesh, also known as Gitesh, the official added.
“A case has been registered under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act and the Maharashtra Prevention and Eradication of Human Sacrifice and other Inhuman, Evil and Aghori Practices and Black Magic Act for physical, mental and financial torture and also subjecting her to occult rituals,” he said, according to PTI.
What the complaint said
According to the complaint, Girija Raut claimed that she was married to Gitesh in December 2017 in an arranged marriage, despite the family being aware of his alleged inability to maintain a physical relationship, a police official said.
The complaint further alleged that during trips to countries including Australia, New Zealand, Kenya and Thailand, she was allegedly subjected to abuse and assault whenever she expressed concerns about her lack of physical relationship. She was reportedly told that an “external obstacle” was preventing the situation from changing, the official said.

“My husband was unable to consummate the marriage, so my in-laws asked me to visit godly men in the Konkan region. It’s not about money. It’s about mental and physical torture. I tried to sort everything out,” she told India Today. She also claimed that her in-laws forced her to drink cow’s urine.
It also alleged that several individuals, including two people who claimed to be divine men, performed inappropriate acts when they claimed to be trying to remove the alleged “obstacle”.

“The victim alleged that her mother-in-law forced her to consume menstrual suppression pills, which seriously affected her health. The victim also alleged that she was subjected to medical negligence when the professionals allegedly refused her proper treatment and suggested home insemination instead,” an official said, citing the complaint.
Raut reacts
Former MP Vinayak Raut denied the allegations and said divorce proceedings between his son Gitesh and Girija were already underway.
Raut claimed that during the discussions between the lawyers representing both sides, Girija was looking for a three BHK flat with terrace, automatic car, monthly maintenance ₹2 lakh and settlement ₹5 million crowns.

“We have not accepted any of the demands,” said Vinayak Raut.
He further alleged that Girija later issued another notice accusing the family of harassment. According to Raut, he was looking for the announcement ₹5 million per month as maintenance, ₹10 million as compensation and more ₹2 million for the emotional trauma she allegedly experienced.
Raut also denied the allegations of black magic saying that he had no involvement in such practices. He claimed that all the allegations were baseless and claimed they were made with the intention of putting pressure on him and his family.
