India did not want to endanger her relationship with the US about the details of the involvement of US President Donald Trump in mediation on May 10. May stop fire between India and Pakistan, said Shashi Tharoor Congress. Mr. Tharoor also pushed back against the repeated claims of Mr. Trump that he had solved the last round of the fighting and used the business lever in this process.
Mr. Tharoor, who is a member of the Congress in Lok Sabha, leads the delegation of multiple parties to America as a result of the terrorist attacks of Pahalgam and Indian reactions through the “Sindoor operation”. He spoke at the National Press Club in Washington DC together with Milind Deora (Rajya Sabha, Shiv Sena), Tejasvi Surya (Lok Sabha, BJP) and former Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, who is a member of the BJP.
Mr. Tharoor was asked whether India was strong enough in his response to the repeated insistence of Mr. Trump that he mediated an agreement to end the fight. He was also asked for the recent Jibe leader of the Rahula Gandhi congress that Mr. Trump had asked Modi to “give up”.
Mr. Tharoor laughed, and Mr. Deora, who left Congress about the differences with his leadership for decades of long -term connection with the party, could be smiled at this point.
Mr. Tharoor was cautious to emphasize “huge respect” for the US Presidency and the US President and said that disagreement with the claims was not a negative comment against the goodwill of others.
“As long as (Pakistan) use the language of terrorism, we use the language of strength … and it does not require a third party,” he said.
“If, on the other hand, they should dismantle the infrastructure of terrorism, we can talk to them …. get without needing an intermediary,” he added.
India did not need to persuade to stop the conflict, said Mr. Tharoor, adding that India is willing to stop fighting when Pakistan has stopped, which is handed over to the US
If the US was talking to Pakistan again and told them to stop fighting, suggesting that India would also stop, that was for the US and Pakistan to comment on it.
India had a “valuable strategic partnership” with Washington that “we wouldn’t want to endanger the matter of detail,” Tharoor said.
“So small matters can walk and we can concentrate tomorrow,” he said.
At the moment, Mr. Deora noted: “I would just like to express my admiration for Dr. Tharoor I had known for a long time. He always gives the country in front of the party.”
Delegates cooperate with American legislators, Think tanks, press and Indian diaspora while they are in Washington DC.
