Although its influence inside the congress side seems to decrease, Shashi Tharoor still uses the growing acceptance between the leadership of the Catholic Church in the central Travancore.
On Saturday, Thiruvananthapuram was the main guest and the main speaker in the valedictory position, which described the celebrations of the platinum jubilee diocese Syro-Malabar in Pala. The action that took place into a deck has turned into a platform where several prominent church leaders did not try to hide their admiration for Mr. Tharoor.
The day before Mr. Tharoor also inaugurated a public meeting organized in connection with the celebrations of the diocesan celebrations CSI Madhya Keral in Kottayam.
Pala bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangatt described Mr. Tharoor as the “cosmopolitan leader of Kerala”, while the chief archbishop Emeritus Cardinal George Alcherry went one step further and called him “a man who all wanted to see a significant position.” The praise was all the more remarkable because it came in the presence of the President of the Congress Committee Keral Pradesh (KPCC) Sunny Joseph.
At his address Mr. Tharoor expressed concern about growing attacks on the Christian clergy across several Indian states, especially in northern India. “We must withstand the recent amounts of unfortunate incidents, including arrests.
At the beginning of the day, the Syro-Malabar Church of the Chief Archbishop Mar Raphael Thattil began this function. At his address, he underlined the inheritance of the diocese of Pala and said, “This is a church that has never changed the ministry to industry.”
This event recorded the participation of a wide range of church leaders and political personalities, including Mar Awgin curiacos, the Metropolitan Chaldean Church in the east; Changanassery Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharyil, a former diocesan bishop Pala Mar Joseph Pallikapaambil; Indian Catholic Bishops’ Conference (CBCI) and Archbishop Thrissur Mar Andrews Thazhath; Kuriakose Mar Severios Valiya Metropolitan; Jacobite Church Catholicos Baselios Joseph; The head of the Church of Syro-Malankage Cardinal Baselios Mar Cleemis Catholicos; Chairman of the Congress of Keral Jose K. Mani; and Minister Rosha Augustine.
