
Police Kolkata arrested Wajahat Khan Qadri on Monday, a man who filed a case against the influence of social media and the Sharmistha Panoli law, today informed India.
According to Kolkata, Kolkata led Khan’s police complaint to arrest the influence of social media. Khan was reportedly on the run from 1 June after a series of raids.
Previously, the case was registered against Wajahat Khan at the Golf Police Station in Calcutta for allegedly spreading hateful manifestations and injuries of religious sentiment through his activities in social media.
Despite the police, which served Khan three announcements in his residence in the garden and ordered him to appear for interrogation, he remained on the run until his arrest.
Khan’s arrest comes in the middle of the increasing controversy over Panoli’s arrest, which was detained from the Gurrogram 30. May by the Kolkata Police, after a controversial video published on the social media that attracted strong reactions.

Complaint against Wajahat Khan
On June 2, Shree Ram Swabhiman Parisad filed a formal complaint against Wajahat Khan with the Kolkata Police and accused him of using derogatory, inflammatory and sexually explicit language focused on Hindu deities, religious traditions and communities in general.
In a letter to the officer for the Shree Ram Police Station, Swabhiman Parisad claimed that Khan had advanced Hindy in his contributions to the social media using terms, including “violent cultures” and “urine drinkers”.
The Hindu body asked the police to take steps against Khan under the parts of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhit and the Information Technology Act.
They added that Khan’s contributions were intended to stimulate municipal tensions and disrupt public order.
