Andhra Pradesh Congress president YS Sharmila on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on the governor’s budget, describing it as empty, aimless and full of exaggerated and misleading claims.
In a post on X, she said the address offered no concrete plan for the state’s development and was largely a rehash of the ruling coalition’s election promises while ignoring what she called 19 months of administrative failures. She claimed that the coalition government lacked vision, prudence and balance in governance.
Ms. Sharmila questioned the government’s claims of poverty eradication under P4, proposed investment of ₹13 lakh crore and creation of 20 million jobs, calling them inflated. It further alleged that the universal health policy diluted the Aarogyasri scheme, thereby affecting access to healthcare for 1.43 lakh families. She also faulted the government for reducing the height of the Polavaram project to 41.15 meters and accused it of neglecting several ongoing irrigation projects.
