Ceasefire
Summit comes days after President Trump announced that Israel and Hamas agreed to the first of his 20-point plan to ensure the Gaza ceasefire and the release of all Israeli prisoners in exchange for about 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
With the beginning of the ceasefire on Friday, the remaining 48 hostages organized by terrorist groups in Gaza, of which 20 are alive, will be released until 72 hours – today, 13 October. Israel is ready to release around 2,000 Palestinian security prisoners in exchange, including 250 terrorist convicts who serve life -long punishment.
The second phase of the plan focuses on the establishment of a new managing body in Gaz without Hamas, creating multinational power and Hamas’s disarmament. Since October 2023, about 67,600 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, according to Hamas’s Ministry of Health
Israel began fresh attacks on Gaza two years ago after Hamas attacked Israeli cities on 7 October 2023 and killed about 1200 people. Hamas also took 251 people as a hostage, and more than 50 of them are still in captivity.
What to expect from the summit?
As the international media citing officials state, the Summit in Sharm El-Sheikh is to consolidate the support of the arrangements of the agreement-not the party, either because it is not attended by none of Israel or Hamas.
However, it remains unclear how this summit can formally end the war. Israel reiterated that he would not agree to end the war until Hamas no longer pose a threat and has no role in the Gaza Rule.
The Middle East experts said that mediators still have a difficult task to ensure a longer-term political solution that will see how Hamas will give up a weapon and resign from Gaza’s governance, something to achieve another phase of Trump’s 20-point plan.
The aim of the summit is to end the war in the Gaza zone and increase efforts to bring peace and stability to the Middle East.

Whether this summit will bring a breakthrough, it is necessary to see because world eyes turn to Sharm El-Sheikh, where the best leaders convened.
