Karnataka State Peace Council Chairman Sharanappa Saladpur has urged the Congress high command to nominate him to the Legislative Council.
He was addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Thursday.
Mr. Saladpur, who has been loyal to the party for several years, said he was promised to be nominated twice in 2018 and 2023. However, he was not recognized for various political reasons and was then appointed chairman with the promise that the party would make him an MLC in July.
He further said that AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge should keep the promise made to him.
Mr. Saladpur also said that former minister Sharanabasappa Darshanapur also convinced Mr. Kharge of the need for him to be nominated to the upper house, given his seniority and loyalty to the party.
He said the Kuraba community to which he belongs will get justice if he is made MLC. He answered the question that the public will see further political developments and decide.
