Shaheen Shah Afridi returned when Pakistan announced his units for the upcoming West Indies on Friday 25th July. Shaheen last played the T20i match during a tour in New Zealand at the beginning of this year and was launched from the Bangladesh series. Together with Shaheen, Haris Rauf and Hasan Ali returned to the T20i team.
Babar Azam, however, continued to be on the sidelines in terms of the shortest format of the game. Babar is part of the ODI team together with Shaheen, with Mohammad Rizwan. Hasan Nawaz is the only unlimited player who has been added to a 16-member group for a 50-over format. Salman Ali Agha will lead the T20is team and will act as Riswan’s ODIS representative.
Pakistan is looking for a turn in Fortunes after losing the T20i series to Bangladesh 2-1. Three T20i against West Indies will take place in Lauderhill, USA and then both teams will head to Carribean for three ODIs.
