The Indian Federation of Students (SFI) will choose their new national officials at the ongoing 18th conference All-India in Kozhikode on Sunday, June 29, 2025).
According to sources, the open discussion of the delegates on the work report introduced by the Secretary General of the acting Mayukh Biswas, who began on Friday (27th June 2025), on Saturday 28 June 2025).
National Secretary SFI Srijan Bhattacharya and National Vice -President K. Anusree told the media that delegates had discussed issues such as privatization of education and the government’s attempt to store national educational policy. They said SFI would not allow the Governors to implement the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) agenda in ruling states outside BJP. SFI leaders claimed that the governors behaved like “RSS agents” to intervene in the education sector, and emphasized that the recent controversy “Bharat Mat” related to Kerala Raj Bhavan.
The discussion is expected to culminate on Sunday afternoon. Then Mr. Biswas responds to the delegate comments. Then the new national officials and the committee will be elected.
Meanwhile, Prakash Karat, a former Secretary General of the Indian Communist Party (Marxist) (CPI (M)), said that the BJP government led by Narendra Modi-MODP has been conducting a systematic and planned step in the country. The “Hindutva-Corporate” mode installed RSS and BJP tried to transform the entire democratic system and education system in the country. Mr. Karat, former SFI National President, dealt with the event of former officials. Other participants included Biman Bose, Ma Baby, Nilotpal bass, KN Balagopal, R. Arun Kumar.
The Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is expected to attend a public meeting on Monday (June 30, 2025) to culminate in the conference.
