The Nagaland police reported the first information report against the IAS officer for an alleged sexual attack on several women.
This followed a complaint against the bureaucrat Rena Wilfred by handing over the Nagalland State Female Commission (NSCW).
“Firms have been registered. The investigation has started,” said Nagaland’s CEO Rupin Sharma on Wednesday (April 9, 2025).
According to local reports, NSCW members met with several victims of sexual assault after receiving complaints in February. They noticed the verbal statements of these women and handed them over to the police for the necessary measures.
After the FIR, the state ministry of staff and administrative reforms released Mr. Wilfred of the accusation as a joint Minister for Planning and Transformation and Industrial Development of Nagaland through the announcement of April 4.
It was not the first such case against the IAS officer. In 2021 he was accused of sexual assaulting two smaller girls, while he worked as a representative of the Commissioner of the Noklak district bordering myanmar.
Girls – sisters aged 14 and 17 – came from the Khiamnungan Naga community.
Investigations of the sub-dawized police officer Noklak in July 2021 found that the accusation against Mr. Wilfred would be true. In December 2021, the Police Police Police Investigation Team filed a fee certificate against him after Prima Facia found him from aggravating sexual assault, sexual harassment and crimes under the protection of children from the 2012 sexual offenses.
Officer IAS questioned the case of the Noklak, which proceeded to the Supreme Court. In June 2023, the Supreme Court remained against him criminal proceedings.
