Seven doctors posted in Sikar district have been suspended and criminal proceedings have been initiated against a hospital and diagnostic center in Rajasthan as part of a crackdown on fraud in the state’s government health system. The action followed an audit which revealed irregularities in the implementation of the scheme.
Rajasthan Health Principal Secretary Gayatri Rathore said here on Saturday (February 14, 2026) that doctors at Shri Kalyan Government Hospital and Government Medical College in Sikar and Community Health Center in Kheerwa have been found involved in irregularities in the Rajasthan Government Health Scheme (RGHS) for government employees and pensioners.
False claims
Ms. Rathore said First Information Reports (FIRs) have also been registered against Bharatpur Nursing Home in Bharatpur and Bothra Diagnostic and Imaging Center in Bikaner. The chief medical officers of both districts received instructions to initiate criminal prosecution.
Investigation revealed collusion between Bharatpur Nursing Home and Kashish Pharmacy to generate fake claims using RGHS beneficiary cards. Patients were treated without RGHS approval and fraudulent claims were made through the pharmacy causing financial loss to the exchequer.
Forged signatures
In the case of the Bothra Diagnostic Centre, patients were subjected to unnecessary diagnostic tests, with prescriptions bearing forged signatures and seals of doctors who were on holiday at the time or not stationed at the hospital’s outpatient clinic.
Earlier, 19 FIRs were registered regarding irregularities in RGHS by hospitals, pharmacies and beneficiaries, 64 health workers were suspended and about 500 cards of RGHS beneficiaries were blocked. Ms. Rathore said that more than ₹32 crore had been recovered from the hospitals found to have irregularities and were debarred on the allegations.
