
The initiative for the rehabilitation initiative of the Ministry of Social Justice for Endosulfan victims “Saha jeevanam snehagram” is gaining dynamics with the second currently ongoing. The aim of the project is to bring all basic services, treatment, therapy, accommodation, employment and skills training under one roof for the complex development of victims.
Snehagramam develops on 25 acres provided by Planatation Corporation as a compensation in Muliyar Grama Panchayat. The first phase, launched on 29 February last year, was the Minister of Higher Education and Social Justice, R. Binda, recorded the completion of blocks for counseling, hydrotherapy and clinical psychology.
The second phase, part of the package Karagod Development Package, will further expand services with the addition of work and accommodation facilities. CH Kunhamba, MLA, assigned 25 ₹ from the assets fund to address the issues of transport facing the recipients attending the treatment center.
Despite the infrastructure to support 30 individuals, the center currently sees up to 55 recipients every day. So far, the treatment of 219 differently ABLED individuals has undergone, and 195 was transferred to further care. Of these, 153 were received on Wednesday and 26 were released after recovery. At present, 86 victims continue to receive regular services as part of the project.
The initiative focuses on early identification of disabilities, specialized therapies, appointment of special educators and social workers and long -term support through education, employment and rehabilitation.
