
Police Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police arrested three men for alleged cheating a 68 -year -old man of 1.95 ₹ Lakh after a mobile phone.
The accused were identified as Mohammed Moin Udddin, 31, Mohammed Syed Salman aka Sultan, 21 years, and Mohammed Hussain, 32.
The wing officer said the victim had lost the phone while traveling in a shared car from uppal to Tarnaka 17. September. Days later, he noticed unauthorized transactions from his bank account, which led 1.95 lakh, after which he filed a complaint.
The investigation revealed that Moin Udddin, who was driving the car, asked the complainant to make a transfer via UPI while Salman stood. After convinced the victim to unlock the phone, stole it, divert his attention, and later made several fraudulent transactions for pumps and shops using QR codes.
“The duo then rolled into a Hussain, which transferred 90 000 GBP to the game platform accounts and pulled the money through its own bank account. The total amount was shared between these three,” the officer said.
The police seized three mobile phones from the accused.
Citizens were asked not to share the pins of UPI, OTP or slogans and immediately reported suspicious activities through the 1930 help line or computer crime .gov.in.
