
The state government ordered the Chairman of the Tamil Recruitment Council Nadu unifted services (TNUSRB) to carry out a joint examination for both 20 % of the department and 80 % of open candidates in direct recruitment under the police inspector.
The state government also issued new procedures that TNUSRB adopted in a joint recruitment for the post of police inspector (taluk/armed reserve/special police Tamil Nadu). The decision on the joint examination for staff and open candidates was followed by the Supreme Court judgment.
According to the new procedure, the age limit for candidates for the department and former service candidates is 47 years old, but for open candidates it would be between the 20 and 35 years, depending on their community, gender (transperson) and for destows and widows. . Candidates for the department and former servicemen would also be liberated from the physical measurement test.
Educational qualifications, written exam, endurance test, physical efficiency test, special stamps (Sport, NCC, SAC) and Viva-VOCE would be, as with candidates for services and open candidates.
Previously, 20 percent of job vacancies were reserved for staff in operation (police constable and main constant in category I and their equivalent in armed reserve and special police forces) to encourage them to strengthen their efficacy and educational qualifications for early promotion as subordinate police.
The inter-se-seniority of these candidates selected in this quota was placed above direct recruits selected from the open quota in the same year. Given that they were not announced in the Government Bulletin, petitions were moved before the Madras High Court, which tried to cancel the changes.
The petitioners who were in 2020 were damaged by the Madras High Court, the petitioners moved the petition on a special holiday at the Supreme Court. In May this year, the Top Court canceled the relevant orders and canceled the changes made, which violated Articles 14, 16 and 21 Constitution. It also issued specific instructions.
