Priests extending ‘Pedda Maryadai’ to seer Vanamamalai on his arrival at Tirumala temple on Monday.
The chief pontiff of the famous Vanamamalai Mutt, JS Srimath Paramahamsethyanthi Madhurakavi Jeeyar, offered prayers at the Lord Venkateswara Temple on Monday.
TTD Executive Director Anilkumar Singhal and temple priests presented him with the traditional honor of Pedda Maryadai, a privilege usually reserved for representatives of leading Hindu religious institutions.
As part of the ritual, the sacred satari, which is usually confined to the inner sanctum of the temple, was ceremoniously carried out on a palanquin to accompany the diviner into the shrine.
