Police have tightened security in Chittoor ahead of Friday’s verdict in the Katari Anuradha and Katari Mohan double murder case. IX an additional district judge delivers the verdict ten years after the double murder that shocked the state.
Deputy SP (Chittoor) T. Sainath told the media here on Thursday that Section 30 of the Police Act, which prohibits assembly, gatherings and celebrations, is in force. “Only court personnel will be allowed inside the court premises. We have forced diversion of traffic around the court,” said the Deputy SP, adding that security has been beefed up at the residences of Chittoor Urban Development Authority (CHUDA) chairperson Katari Hemalatha, daughter-in-law of the slain mayors’ spouses, former MLA CK Babu, presiding judge, assistant public defender.
The SP representative warned that the police are closely monitoring the suspects and social media to prevent provocative posts.
