After a hot and sunny day, Hyderabad was beaten with heavy rains on Sunday evening, leading to a waterlogging and traffic growl over several parts of the city. The downpour, who coincided with the holiday, disrupted the weekend plans for many inhabitants.
According to Tellangana Development Planning Society (TGDP), several areas have seen high rainfall within hours. Secunderabad received the highest at 123 mm, while five other places also exceeded the 100 mm brand.

Vodopis has been reported from several locations, including Hills, Tolichowki, Mehdipatnam, Himayathnagar, Shaikpet, Junction Biodiversity, Raidurgam, Malakpet, Asifnagar, Kondapur, Gachibowli and Azamabad. Motorists were left by stuck on several sections when rainwater was flooded and slowed down.

To control overload, Hyderabad has diverted vehicles from Rethibowli to Shaikpet Nala and Nanalnagar to Langar Houz. The authorities also closed traffic movement from the intersection of Khajaguda towards the overpass Shaikpet due to heavy waterlogging.
The staff of all three commissioners, Hyderabad, Cyberabad and Rachakonda were deployed at key intersections to regulate the traffic movement. Teams from the Agency for Reaction to Disasters in Hyderabad and the Protection of Asset (Hydraa) were also pushed and worked on waterlogged sections.

According to TGDPS data, Secunderabad recorded the highest precipitation of 123 mm, followed by 116 mm in Musherarabad, 114 mm in Jawahar Nagar, 105.8 mm at Osmania University, 102.8 mm in Kapra, 101.3 mm in Mettugud, 94.5 mm in in in shaikpet in in in shaikpet in in shaikpet in in shaikpet in shaikpe. Commissioner Hydraa Av Ranganath speaks of chaos caused by rain: “Every main point of infestation in Hyderabad in Hyderabad, and about 40 of them, requires a thorough analysis of root causes. Much of the problem dealing with water has been solved, although other work is still waiting, ”.
