The road was closed for all the movement of vehicles along the section from 11:00 on Friday, said the National Motorway and Infrastructure Development Corporation LTD (NHIDCL).
Siliguri’s statement in NHIDCL said that a reasonable machinery was deployed for the check -in work, albeit continuous falls of rocks and remnants of exercise delay.
The section is expected to reopen within 24 hours, the officials said.
“Travelers are advised to check caution before planning the trip and check the updates in real time. NHIDCL continues to monitor the situation and will provide additional updates during the work,” he said.
