
On Tuesday, the Indian Airports Office (AAI) inspected two of the three places identified for Bengaluru’s proposed second international Greenfield Airport.
While the AAI team inspected two places on the Kanakapura road, on Wednesday they will visit third place on the Nelamangala-Kunigal road.
After the inspection, officials led a discussion with the Minister of Infrastructure Development MB Patil.
During the meeting, the AAI team presented a live presentation that emphasized the need for the second Bengalur Airport, growing industrial demand and advantages for civil air traffic.
Mr. Patil stressed that the government is determined to ensure maximum transparency in completing a place for a new airport. He added that the government intends to complete the placing of the airport on the basis of specific requirements of Bengalur and the final decision will be taken on the basis of report and recommendations from AAI.
The AAI team included Vikram Singam, CEO; K. Srinivas Rao, joint CEO; Manuj Bharadwaj, assistant CEO; Together with Sachidand, the manager’s leader; Managers Santosh Kumar Bharathi and Amaan Cheep from AAI headquarters.
