Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute of Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Thiruvananthapuram is organizing a MedTech Ideathon on February 21, mentored by TIMED, the Medical Device and Biomaterials Technology Business Incubator in the Biomedical Technology (BMT) Department of SCTIMST.
The event is co-financed by the Institute of Science and Technology.
SCTIMST invites young teams of medical technology enthusiasts from various organizations to discuss, develop and design innovative solutions for real unmet medical needs.
The event focuses on conceptualization, validation and presentation of ideas. The aim is to promote innovation, teamwork and entrepreneurship. Selected teams will be given the opportunity to interact with SCTIMST scientists, engineers and clinicians as well as exposure to the TIMED incubator.
The event is intended for students (UG/PG) in Science, Engineering, Medical, Dental or Non-Medical fields who may be inclined towards Medical Technology. Students, recent graduates and researchers can also participate. The age limit is 25 years. Registration is free and can be done online.
Initial preparatory meetings will be held online where experts will provide insights into important segments and unmet needs. Ideas should be original, fresh and without plagiarism.
Teams should submit a detailed abstract or proposal by the deadline. It should include project description, goals, novelty, architecture, and societal impact or market feasibility. The last date to submit an idea is February 15 via https://www.canvaqr.com/RGA0vv6nZM.
