South Central Railway (SCR) is set to launch a first-of-its-kind Rail Parcel app aimed at providing door-to-door parcel booking and delivery services to rail users. Hyderabad Division will be the first in Indian Railways to implement this pilot project.
SCR General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava will launch the application and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Bengaluru to conduct a cargo logistics market study at SCR.
The parcel app is a comprehensive digital platform that integrates first-mile pickup, middle-mile rail and last-mile delivery into a unified system, making package movement easier, faster and more transparent for customers. It will serve as a unified platform for parcel booking, tracking and management, offering online booking, digital payments and real-time tracking with automatic updates sent to customers at every stage.
