SCR has canceled 122 trains till the end of the month due to Cyclone Montha. It also diverted eight trains and rescheduled or rescheduled 33 trains.
General Manager Sanjay Kumar Srivastava held a detailed review meeting with all divisions, along with senior heads of departments, particularly Vijayawada and Guntur divisions, on the steps taken to deal with the cyclone and reviewed the position of monsoon reserves in various depots.
He advised officials to work closely with government officials and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) teams to ensure the safety of tracks and train operations.
Repeated measures include monsoon patrolling of the tracks in case of affected sections and posting of watchmen at all vulnerable bridges and places to get real-time information. He also presented the employee with an “Employee of the Month” safety award, the press release said.
