Many parts of Tamil Nadu are likely to be gripped by scorching heat till April 12. The Regional Meteorological Center (RMC) predicts an increase of two to three degrees Celsius in the maximum temperature till Sunday.
As the summer heat gradually increases in the state, the RMC on Thursday issued a heat index advisory, especially for the coastal pockets. RMC officials noted that a trough prevailing over Tamil Nadu would lead to moisture intrusion and increase in humidity. . The combination of humid air and high temperatures would make the weather hot and uncomfortable in places like Chennai.
