The private school announced a two -day holiday after a dispute concerning a student who allegedly insisted on participating in the classes on each other. The school authorities protested against this and stated that according to sources at school, the dressing of an institution that led to a tense situation on Friday.
The alleged incident occurred at the St. Rita in Pallurutha. The school received a two -day holiday from Monday. The decision was taken after a meeting of the Association of Parents-Purgers (PTA) to avoid a possible tense situation.
Meanwhile, Subin Paul, Deputy Director of Education, Ernakulam, said he was waiting for a report of the district educational official of the incident. “Under the law, the student has the right to participate in classes and wearing hijab cannot be a reason to deny her the right to study. We are trying to solve the problem friendly,” said Mr. Paul.
According to the school authorities, several individuals created a hand at school on Friday and demanded that the student be able to attend classes on each other hijab. Subsequently, the school management turned to the High Court on Monday looking for police protection for institution.
President PTA Joshi Kaithavalappil said that the school was submitted on Monday by police protection. He argued that students could still attend classes, provided she adhered to the dressing of the institution. “We do not discriminate among students. It can continue to participate in classes, but will have to follow dressing,” said Mr. Kaithavalappil.
In an interview with reporters later the student’s parent claimed that the school had not used the use of hijab in the past. “The school authorities later asked her to remove the head cover,” the parent said.
A letter issued by Director of S. Heene albums on October 12 said that the holiday was declared a few students who asked for a holiday, and teachers and non -paying employees could not appear for work and feared possible tense situations. The letter said that the student arrived at school on his own clothing that was not allowed.
